The city of Yazd is one of the most favorite tourist destinations in Iran. It is the city of cisterns, wind catchers and adobe-made houses. Yazd is the forth greatest province of Iran that is located in the center of Iran, between the deserts of Iran. It’s said that it is one of the oldest cities of the world. Based on historians, the history of Yazd at least dates back to the third Millennium BC. According to them, the city of Yazd was founded on the remains, or nearby, of an older city, named “Kase”. The name of the city is derived from the word “ Yasht”, which is mentioned in the Zoroastrians’ holy book, Avesta, and means worship.
